Electives Meet & Greet our AAUW National Board members Host: Dianne Owens, AAUW Advancement Chair, Past AAUW California President. Meet new AAUW Board Chair, Cheryl Sorokin, and returning Vice President of Finance, Peggy Cabaniss who will share their board experiences and talk about what the AAUW National Board will be focusing on in the next few years. This will be a great time to ask your questions on how changes in the world all around us may affect AAUW at all levels of the organization. |

We’re all fed up with the culture wars being waged at the expense of our schools and students. You all know that AAUW California is trying to do something about it by encouraging all of you to get out there and attend a school board meeting. You want to do your part, but maybe you feel like you don’t understand the issues well enough, or you don’t think you’d know what to say. No worries! At the “How to Advocate for AAUW’s Position on Protections for Transgender Students at School Board Meetings,” you’ll have the opportunity to watch a pro and con presentation by members of the School Board Project, and meet with your fellow members to help each other sort through your feelings around this complex and sensitive topic. |
