Join AAUW San Fernando Valley Branch and the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA USA) for this informative event on food insecurity and how we are meeting the challenge. Global population is expected to exceed 8 billion people by the end of 2022. Of that number, 33.8 million people live in food insecure households and another 8.6 million adults live in households with very low food security. Both Covid and climate change have had a significant impact on the world’s ability to feed itself. Join us for a discussion of how the world is meeting this challenge on an international basis and how we, as Angelenos, are addressing this need. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, a holiday which focuses our attention on the abundance of food, this topic is especially timely and pertinent.
