The Santa Cruz branch held their final summer meeting on July 27, 2024 to raise awareness about human trafficking. Martha Mangan, branch chair of the End Human Trafficking Committee, led the meeting which was attended by five branch members and twelve members of the community. Loreal Weitzel of the Arukah Project shared their experiences providing shelter and support to trafficking victims in Santa Cruz County. The event also featured a screening of the award-winning documentary “I am Jane Doe,” which chronicles the fight against online platforms facilitating trafficking. This powerful and informative event emphasized the importance of community action in combating human trafficking.
